Statement by Florida Governor Charlie Crist on Michael Steele’s Election as RNC Chairman

Tallahassee—Florida Governor Charlie Crist released the following statement today regarding former Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele’s election as RNC Chairman:

“I congratulate Chairman Steele on his historic election today. During the last election cycle, Michael helped us to elect Republicans across our state and we are excited about working with the Republican National Committee to increase those numbers. Today marks a new beginning for the GOP. The Republican Party has an extraordinary opportunity to reach out to new voters, create a clear message, work to lower taxes on families and businesses, and get our economy back on track."
