Lt. Governor Kottkamp Endorses Thad Altman for State Senate

Tallahassee–Lt. Governor Jeff Kottkamp today announced his endorsement of State Representative Thad Altman for State Senate District 24. Altman, a veteran state legislator from the Space Coast, is running for the State Senate seat formerly held by Senator Bill Posey (R-Rockledge).

“Community service is important to Representative Altman,” said Lt. Governor Jeff Kottkamp. “As a community leader and state representative, Thad has worked very hard to bring more high wage high tech and aerospace jobs to Central Florida in preparation for the retirement of the Space Shuttle program. Additionally, his business friendly polices earned him the 2008 Champion for Business Award from Associated Industries of Florida.”

“Thad will carry on the tradition of strong conservative leadership in the district,” continued Kottkamp. “He understands the challenges and facing the families and small business owners in the district and is ready to serve the people of the Space Coast in this new capacity.”

Representative Altman was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2003 and reelected subsequently. He currently serves on the following Committees: Education Innovation & Career Preparation, Environment Protection, Joint Legislative Sunset Advisory Committee, S chools & Learning Council and Committee on Financial Institutions. Altman also serves as a Director on the Board of Space Florida and Workforce Florida Board of Directors.

Altman and his wife Mary Pat reside in Melbourne with their children Hunter, McKenzie, and Sullivan. State Senate District 24 covers portions of Brevard, Orange and Seminole Counties.
